This includes making best use of available technologies to

- streamline the purchase to pay process,
- encourage competition for the business opportunities that are available,
- facilitate electronic tender returns.

We publish notices on this portal giving suppliers instant access to tender opportunities and lower value request for quotes (RFQs).
Hertfordshire County Council complies with the requirements of the EU procurement directives and follow contract regulations which regulate how we buy works, services and goods. These regulations promote competition and ensure potential suppliers have the same clear understanding of the requirements. It also

- provides a level playing field against which to judge the market
- is the best way of ensuring value for money
- It provides a sound base for a properly constructed written contract
